      @@TwoWheelRocco hey, i was not expecting the quick reply. i have bought a sportster 883 hugger from 1996, the owner has had it outside for some time, and at the time of purchase, it had not driven for over a year. i have been working the rust with steel wool, cloth and autosol. But it doesnt run well, only runs with the choker on, idles very rough. Even after driving it for around 10 minutes, as soon as i turn of the choker, it coughs and sometimes just dies on me. Do you think a carburator clean will fix this?

    Thanks for this video! I made the mistake of only marking the belt side cam and not both sides on my 2003 Road King Classic. • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco 2 дні тому

      If you just did the belt side, that's the side that's welded so the other side will mirror it make your adjustment on the belt side and tighten the nut on the right side and you'll be straightened out as well then indexer mark on both sides when you're done it's all good. Take a close look at the cam washer can only go on one way and that's what keeps you honest. Thank you for watching all your support DM. Ride safe have a great day. Any questions just ask.

      Not that I know of, but any auto parts store and the vacuum hose could be bought at any Lawnmower Harley Davidson anywhere relatively cheap. Unless I don't understand what you're trying to do so to remove the tank the only rubber pieces of the hoses, gas hose vacuum hose clamps. Now if you're gonna remove the Petcock and test it, I would purchase a new screen and all this stuff can be purchased on eBa. Any questions just ask. I wanted to put The CV40mm carbs one for each jug on my Suzuki 1400 intruder since the front carb has a float that hangs vertically and always is a problem with bad design I saw the SSsuper e kit carb, and I will have to run one for each jug due to they both mount on the back side of the jugs . I will have to sink them together.I'm thinking that the SS carbs will be easier to tune in than the CV40mm carb what do you folks think about the conversion I'm thinking that the accelerator pump may be too much for just feeding one jug any feedback on any problems with CV40mm and the S&S carbs for the 1400 intruder any advise from you folks on possible problems I might have with either conversion?

The slimmer spacer goes to closest to the wheel and then the caliper on usually you wanna install the caliper arm and then slide the spacer in there. It's like a quarter inch thick check it out on the video. Hope this helps. Let us know how it works out.

    I have my brother in-law 06 Sportster 883 and it has sit for 10 years with Gas in it and I have cleaned the whole carb changed the oil and filter and spark plugs now I have 2 problems 1st is it leaks gas out of over flow fuel line and I see what you did to fix that so now I will do the same 2nd problem it coughs or back fire in carb what is causing that.

      Happy to help. If the bikes sat for 10 years, that means oil would sump into that motor they are dry sump motors. So you have too much oil in the bike, but will deal with that when you can start it. now if it's backfiring black smoke. You still have to resolve your gas issue and that if it's leaking from the small hose on the bottom of the float bowl as stated you need a new float jet, I will send you a video on how to test your peacock. They are notorious for failing and causing all sorts of problems as you replace or repair the Petcock. You need to replace the screen in the tank so you will least start off with clean fuel, generally when the diaphragm gets a crack or a hole from the fuel that we are running ethanol. Most times you need to repair that Petcock. I will send you a video and out of test the Peacock. Thank you for watching and all your support. Hey man, after watching your video (great video by the way), I tried replacing my clutch pack and springs with barnett parts on my 03 shadow and after getting it all back together. The clutch lever doesn't have any resistance. The cable hasn't broken and I tightened everything to spec and adjusted the clutch cable slack to the max. Any ideas as to why?

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco 7 днів тому

      Happy to help. Sometimes these parts aren't what we think they are. It sounds to me taking it apart and if you have no feel in the clutch handle or resistance, the springs are wrong. That's what it sounds to me. Let us know how it works out. Take a closer look at those springs that's what controls the pressure on those friction plates in your clutch. Thank you for watching and all your support. Ride safe and have a great day and let us know how it works out.

    Good video my friend, I have an 05 softail deluxe. Had a new tire put on today, and noticed the brakes were pretty thin, so I bought a set of EBC pads, and I am tackling this as we speak. Since everything is apart, it might be a little bit easier, But we shall see. Thanks for this and your other videos, they are very informative. I am by no means a first time mechanic, but I’ve never put brakes on a motorcycle before. I’ve had this bike over six years and I haven’t done much to it except fluid changes and replaced a few tires.

    The best way to stop your shifter linkage, wearing out or getting loose, get rid of the heel shifter. That’s the number one killer of shifter linkage bushings. Shifters are bad.
